March is here but it’s not what we expected. This so called “Beast from the East” has struck across the country causing us to face some unusual sub-zero temperatures. Few of you have braved the cold to go out for photoshoots, and I salute you for doing so. As for me, I prefer to be sat next to my heater, writing this blog to inform you about studio days and group photoshoots at Catfish Studio. Continue reading “Lousy Smarch Weather”
Happy new year everyone! I know, I know. It’s a month late for such greetings. But this is the first post of Catfish News in 2018, and we’re only 7 weeks into the year, so it’s still as fresh as it can get. Continue reading “New Bedroom”
I was planning to write some sort of review of 2017, much like what a lot of people do this time of year. Instead, I want to use this opportunity (or blog post, depending on how you want to look at it) to say a big thank you to those who visited Catfish Studio, and made its first, full year as a photography studio, an amazing one. Continue reading “A Brief Look at 2017”
Winter is upon us, so I like to keep the pool covered to as much as I can, to retain whatever heat there may be. Which, in all honesty, isn’t much. Continue reading “Winter Time in the Pool Room”
Since the inception of Catfish Studio in Walsall, the conservatory was being used the area for studio photography, as it was the only feasible area to work in. Although the area wasn’t the ideal for size that a studio should be, it still managed to serve its purpose, and was sizeable enough for photographers to work in, and to store all the photography equipment.
Studio days, held for models and photographers for one to one photoshoots, are a regular occurrence at Catfish Studio, normally held during the daytime on Saturdays. One was to be arranged with model and Youtube presenter, Rebecca Peace, when she got in touch with the studio. However, moments after arranging a date, we both realised we had other commitments, so had to rearrange. As Rebecca was local to the studio, we thought we’d try hosting her studio event on a Thursday evening. Continue reading “Rebecca Peace Studio Evening”
It’s been a great couple of months over at Catfish Studio, and I’m feeling quite settled with the way things are.
Actually, settled sounds so finalised. I am nowhere near done, nor will I ever be. I guess I mean to say, I’m happy with the way things have been going so far, and I’m looking forward to what’s coming next. Continue reading “The Progress of Catfish Studio”
There are plenty of talented make up artists across the West Midlands, including Catfish Studio regular, Fauve Thorpe. Another one of which is Dudley based make up artist, Marra Entezary. Continue reading “Photoshoot with MUA Marra Entezary”
Catfish Studio, in Walsall, opened its doors in September 2016 to photographers, models, and other creatives with the intention to hire out the premises for their own photoshoots.
In the beginning, it didn’t really occur to me to work alongside other creatives in a home based, photography studio. That was until I was contacted by Fauve Thorpe, a make up artist originally based in Birmingham. She was moving to Walsall and was looking for another studio to work in, close by to where she was going to live. Continue reading “Fauve Thorpe – Make Up Artist for hire”
Visitors of Walsall photography studio, Catfish Studio, will be aware of the ongoing situation in the swimming pool room.
For those who aren’t, the water has been freezing cold for some time. A couple of brave souls have dared to enter, and truly, I salute them. Some of have dipped their toes in, but that was more than enough for them. Continue reading “Pool Heating – The temperature will be rising”
